An 8-day, 7-night mountain trekking trip departing from Marrakech to discover the beauty of the famous Oukemden mountain.
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Welcome Upon arrival at Marrakech airport, you will be welcomed by our team and transferred to the hotel. Dinner and night.
Day 2: Marrakech – Imeskar – Imeskar
In the morning, depart from Marrakech on the Taroudant-Tizin Test road. At km 47, we will stop to meet our team of mule drivers and our cook. Mint tea in a Berber café, then loading the mules, heading for the Imenane valley, through Tamadote. Lunch will be prepared by our cook upon arrival at the river, then we will continue to slowly climb towards Imeskar. Night at a local’s home. Duration: 3 hours of walking.
Day 3: Imeskar – Ousertek – Gliz
We will climb a mule trail crossing the small valley, in the shade of several giant walnut trees. Lunch in the village of Ousertek. Then we will continue to climb to the village of Tidili and spend the night in the tranquil and peaceful village of Gliz, at an altitude of 2000m. Night at a local’s home. Duration: 4 hours.
Day 4: Gliz – Oukaimden Pass (2600 m) – Eddi Pass (2900 m)
A 1-hour climb to cross the Oukaimden Pass through a forest of thyme junipers, followed by a descent to the highest ski resort in Africa. A few fading rock engravings, then we will follow the Oukaimden valley. Lunch in the valley, then we will cross the Eddi Pass again in front of the Angour mountains. Long descent to the Imenane valley and overnight in the village of Ouaneskra in a guesthouse. Duration: 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Day 5: Ouaneskra – Tamatert Pass (2300 m) – Imlil (1750 m)
A beautiful stage! We will walk on a large, very easy path that runs along the top of the magnificent Imenane valley, at the foot of the Akswal summit at 3200 m in altitude. Panoramic views on all sides of the Imenane valley and the Ait Misane valley. Descent to Imlil, through a forest of pine trees. Lunch and overnight in Imlil in a guesthouse. Afternoon laundry and magnificent terrace with views of Toubkal. Duration: 4 hours.
Day 6: Imlil – Toudat Pass (2200 m) – Id Aissa
We will follow the path along the Ait Misane valley, which takes us to the village of Ait Talaoul and then Taddert, then Aguersioual. Then we will leave the walnut valley (Imlil), to reach the village of Matate (old mine). Lunch just before the pass, at the source, in front of the village of Matate. Then we will cross the Toudate pass and descend to the colored valley (the land is colored gray, ochre, and red). Overnight stay with a local in Id Aissa. Duration: 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Day 7: Id Aissa – Tacht Pass – Imioughlad – Marrakech
We will walk along the top of the Azaden valley, the most beautiful valley of Toubkal, then we will cross the Tacht pass at 2000 m in altitude and a long 1.5-hour descent through a forest of junipers and green oaks. Lunch in the Ait Misane valley again. We will then close the loop and return to Asni, then Marrakech. Free afternoon. Night at the hotel. Duration: 4 hours of walking and 1 hour of transportation.
Day 8: Marrakech
Depending on your departure time, transfer to the airport.
