The desert welcomes us with open arms, a 9-day desert trek on foot in the middle of dunes, dinners in the middle of the desert, a unique experience.
Day 1: MARRAKECH – M’HAMID
Departure from Marrakech in the morning, your route follows the Djebel Tiffernine before entering the Saghro massif that you cross through the Tizi n’Tinififft pass. Now here is the magnificent Drâa valley, its qsour and kasbahs, which you follow to M’hamid where the camel drivers are waiting for you. Dinner and night in the desert bivouac.
Day 2: M’HAMID – LAHNANICHE
After breakfast, your hike begins beyond the palm grove to the Rass N’khel dunes, then you cross a beautiful desert plateau. Lunch and resume walking. At the end of the day, you admire a beautiful sunset over the Lahnaniche dunes. Camp setup.
Day 3: LAHNANICHE – SIDI NAJI
The desert welcomes us with open arms: ergs and regs follow one another in the middle of the tamaris. The Kraab chain (Black Mountain) can be seen. The team will set up camp for the night near the tomb of Sidi Naji, a pilgrimage site for the Nouaji and Sahrawi women who wish to marry.
Day 4: SIDI NAJI – ERG ZAHAR
The caravan continues its journey towards the large dunes, crossing through virgin desert before reaching the Erg Zahar dunes to admire the sunset.
Day 5: ERG ZAHAR – ERG SMAR – ERG SADRA
The morning is spent enjoying the landscape of Erg Smar, before stopping for lunch under the large tamaris. The afternoon is marked by crossing the large Lawtid Reg, characterized by its very flat ground. Bivouac at Erg Sadra.
Day 6: ERG SADRA – OUED LAATACH – BOUGERN
Today, we head towards Bougern, crossing the Oued Laatach dunes. Bivouac in the middle of the Bougern dunes.
Day 7: BOUGARN – OUED NAAM
Through dunes and Tamaris, the caravan continues its route for these 2 days to reach Bougarn and then Oued Naam (formerly populated with ostriches) which has kept its name from its inhabitants (Naam=ostriches).
Day 8: OUED NAAM – M’HAMID
You leave Oued Naam peacefully, the journey continues through the Hamada Du Drâa, a vast pebbled desert (reg) dotted with volcanic stones. Return in the late afternoon to M’hamid, rest and possibility to take a shower. Night in the desert bivouac.
Day 9: M’HAMID – MARRAKECH
Transfer to Marrakech, on the road to Tamegroute you can visit (Pottery, ancient Koran library…), lunch in Ouarzazate, arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
