The beautiful Ouzoud Falls are a site to see. It means “olive” in the local Berber dialect because of its proximity to the olive trees in the area.
This area is a well-known location for tourists to visit some infrastructure is in place to facilitate a visit. There are a few restaurants and hotels close by.
The falls themselves are accessible via a path at the bottom and a track that descends to the gorges of the El Abid River. We leave Marrakech at 8:00 AM to waterfalls .
We stop on our way for a mint tea and then continue to the Berber village “Ouzoud”. Considered to be the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, they are located in a rural valley of red sandstone and luish greenery including almond, olive and fig trees.
Rainbows can often be seen crowning the falls, and you will be able to see a dozen small, traditionnal oil mils that are still in business.
